THE ARTVERTISER

IMAL, Brussels hosted The Artvertiser, a workshop led by Damian Stewart and Julian Oliver. The aim of the The Artvertiser, is to replace street ads with art using their custom Billboard Intercept Units. I used Processing to create my project, Pixiliate, a composition of pixels whose colors are derived from the ad. Unfortunately, I was unable to see the result of the process due to a few demonstrations and heightened police activity.

EYES EARS NOSE MOUTH

The following images were created by using software that selects and randomizes elements of the face. For these images, I wanted to experiment with similar shapes that we weren't accustomed to associating with the face. What resulted were cartoon-style images that liked to multiply.

PUZZLING ARG

During the Hyper Island Final Project, our group, The United Kingdoms of the North, worked on creating rules for a soon-to-be-released ARG. We worked on in-browser interface, facebook integration, narrative video and puzzle concepts.

COLOR COMPLEX

Who knew my first game concept was a good one? Entered on a whim and managed to be one of two contestants with no previous game experience who made it to the semis. (The other being Rudhraigh McGrath, a fellow Hyper.) Color Complex, a game based on color theory, is still being improved and may one day become a real game.
